HONEY NUT CHEERIOS
An in-browser 3D AR experience.
Developed for client General Mills, in collaboration with Boffswana and Saatchi & Saatchi New York, this project conjoined the physical with the virtual to deliver a world-first Augmented Reality experience utilising the Unity 3D engine. Aimed at youngsters, the game utilised hidden markings on the outside of Honey Nut Cheerios boxes to allow kids to activate and interact with the game.
Using the box as a controller, and combined with a webcam- and internet-enabled computer, kids were able to control Buzz on his journey and eventually confront the final boss Handsome Hector.
My role in this project was the integration of a third party AR library into the Unity 3D web player, across both OSX and Windows 32-bit and 64 bit platforms.
